First attempt at BJD

Okay make that first SUCCESSFUL attempt at making a BJD. I tried to a couple years back but that one ended in failure because I was too ambitious and made a large 64 inch doll out of super sculpey and the clay wasn't strong enough to support the tension of the elastic going through the doll :/

oh well! this little guy is about 14 inches tall. Made from teracotta clay (which was surprisingly strong) and spray painted and details were done in oils.

Made him for a sculpture elective in school. And yes I know he's kinda rough but I was more concerned about getting the joints working and being able to string him up.

I'm glad the joints worked out in the end although there are several things I need to improve on. Will be making two more dolls for my final project this semester so I should be getting pics of them up in about 2 and a half weeks

I still don't have a name for this guy
