Description
Genderbend Maleficent cosplay, props, and makeup by Kelton.
Custom Sclera lenses by Samhain Contact Lenses
Assistants: Kohalu Cosplay, Dustin Young, Jonathan Chua
Photography by Muze's photography and cosplay
Based on the design by Sakimi chan. I love Maleficent's character in the original Disney animated film Sleeping Beauty so I took a lot of design elements from that. However I also love the sculpt of the horns that Rick Baker did for Angelina in the 2014 film (which I am not a fan of sadly).
The horns were sculpted and cast in slip latex as was the front of the collar (the back is worbla) and the gem is resin. The wings were constructed from PVC pipes and worbla and the skin of the wings were created with sheets of liquid latex.
I am really happy I finally got to shoot this costume! It was such a labor of love and although it's probably my most uncomfortable costume yet, I really love all the details I put into it! It also provided lots of challenges - I learned how to work with worbla, make articulated wings and I got to sculpt horns and ears!!
